Alternatively – High-Resolution Raster (PNG, JPG, TIFF) – 300 dpi or higher quality will work as well.
Web images are discouraged due to the low resolution
Copyrighted Images
No trademarked or copyrighted images, unless you own the rights, which we may ask for documentation of.
Christmas or pine tree shapes are generally copyright protected by LittleTrees, and they are very active at pursuing infringements upon their trademark.
Front & Back Designs
Please provide complete front & back images or designs
If your design and custom shape is perfectly symmetrical we can replicate it on the back without any issues.
If your design is asymmetrical please provide a back design in addition to the front, keeping in mind the custom shape you are working with.
If you do not have a design for the back of your air freshener, please provide instructions on what you would like. We can add your phone number, website, address or anything else you would want in simple text on a white or colored background.
Please include 2mm of bleed on your design. This will allow for up to 2mm of shifting which can occur during the die cutting process.
Shapes
We can make nearly any shape for no additional charge.
A design with lots of small details along the edge may need to be simplified. Example, if you were making a person, we could not get the details of the fingers but could outline the entire hand.
Very small areas may weaken or damage the paper during die cutting and are not recommended.
Something like a donut – with the hole in the middle would require a special cutout which is an additional fee of $40 each, free if you order more than 5000 pieces.
String Attachment Hole
Air fresheners require a 4mm hole to attach the string.
There must be a border around the hole of no less than 2mm.
Image Shifting / Print Alignment
Since these are die cut and have 2mm thick paper, there can be a slight shifting (up to 2mm) of your design. Because of that we recommend a white or colored border or bleed and having your important information 4mm or more from the edge.
Full Bleed/Border
We can produce full-bleed images, but the image may shift due to the die cutting process. It is best if we can extend one of your design colors as a 2mm bleed or border to account for this.
Sizing
Standard Sizing- Our standard pricing includes any shape that can fit into a 3.25″ x 3.25″ square, or a 2.75″ x 4.00″ rectangle shape.
Minimum – the minimum size we can make an air fresheners is 1.25″ x 1.25″
Maximum – the maximum size we can make an air freshener is 8″ x 8″. Just because we can make an air freshener this large, does not mean you should make one this big. Here are some reasons against large sizes.
The larger the size, the more expensive they are.
The larger the size, the more fragrance oil they hold and dissipate into the air. This means they can be very very strong initially.
At some point the size becomes a nuisance and a driver can get in trouble with having it hanging on their mirror. This means they have to take it down…
When the driver takes down the air freshener, they have to store it somewhere, and this can lead to staining or discoloring of surfaces in a car due to the fragrance oils.
Paper Color / Staining
The paper we use is bright white. Some scents may change the paper to a slight gray color, slight yellow color, slight brown or a reddish or pink tint. We can sometimes avoid the shift by using a lighter scent.
Header & Backer Cards
A header cards final size will be determined by your air freshener size. This will determine what bag size we use, which determines the header card size.
